Curriculum

The Krav Maga curriculum consists of five levels before black belt. Level 1 (Yellow belt), Level 2 (Orange belt) and Level 3 (Green belt) are considered the core curriculum. Levels 4 (Blue belt) and 5 (Brown belt) are more advanced and introduce weapon defences. The black belt curriculum consists of more advanced weapon defences, the use of weapons in defence, third party protection, car jacking scenarios and other techniques.

Krav Maga Reference Books

Complete Krav Maga Complete Krav Maga is the reference for the Krav Maga curriculum. It covers the program from level 1 (yellow belt) to level 5 (brown belt). The text is organized per level which is convenient if you are studying for your next grading! Highly recommended.
Krav Maga for Beginners Krav Maga for Beginners mostly covers the basic curriculum (roughly level 1 to level 3) in a bit more depth than Complete Krav Maga does, as well as discussing some other topics such as warmup. However, the book is not organized per level which makes it slightly less convenient to use. We would recommend Complete Krav Maga instead.
Black Belt Krav Maga Black Belt Krav Maga covers numerous topics from the advanced Krav Maga curriculum, such as carjacking scenarios, third party protection, edged weapon threats and the use of weapons for self defence.

Handwraps

Not sure how to wrap your hands? You can ask 10 people and get 10 different answers; but here is one way to do it.

Other Self Defence Books

The books listed below are not about Krav Maga per se but about self defence in general. They are not technique books (see the Krav Maga reference books, above) but cover other aspects of self defence.

The Gift of Fear If you want to better understand awareness and learn how to predict and protect yourself from violence then this is the book for you. The "Gift of Fear" refers to your intuition, and Gavin de Becker will teach you how to usefully use your intuition to lead a safer and less worried life. Well worth a read.
Meditations on Violence Meditations on Violence presents an easy to understand study of the mechanics
of violence. It discusses the trade offs that need to be made between safety and training for real life situations, and suggests various ways in which you can make your training more realistic. Very useful for anyone interested in martial arts.
On Combat On Combat is probably the reference on the psychological and physiological effects of violence. Although targeted mostly at professional "warriors" (police officers, soldiers, etc.) it is also highly relevant for anybody interested in self defence.
Ending Violence Quickly A Professional's Guide to Ending Violence Quickly guides you through different stages of conflict and gives advice on how to remain in control of the situation.

Stretching

Although Krav Maga does not rely on high flexibility, a general flexibility is beneficial for anybody. Below we list a few books that we have found useful.

Ultimate Flexibility Ultimate Flexibility: A Complete Guide to Stretching for Martial Arts is a very comprehensive book on stretching and is targeted specifically at martial artists. It comes with a number of premade stretching routines and advice on how to modify these routines for specific purposes (such as high kicks, for example).
Relax Into Stretch Although not by any means as comprehensive as Ultimate Flexibility, Relax Into Stretch is an excellent discussion of how to stretch and of the importance of relaxation in stretching. Recommended.
The Anatomy of Stretching Unlike most other books about stretching, every stretch in The Anatomy of Stretching is accompanied by a clear picture of which muscles are being stretched. A good reference.
