To date I've been learning Krav Maga with self-defence.ie for about 10 weeks, and KM does pretty much what it says on the tin. You're not expected to be uber-fit, and there are no intricate and complicated Bruce Lee style contortions involved. Each class is a workout which really is second to none (tip: Mr. Waterbottle will be your new BFF!). The training staff are extremely professional and friendly and are quick to answer any question and help out if there's anything you're not quite getting right. As a self defence system, it really does work "in the real world" - after just a few weeks of classes I was confronted by an aggressive individual at a music festival, and I was able to deal with the problem really easily and get away safe. Finally, I've found my fitness has come on in leaps and bounds and the extra few kgs of weight have been falling away steadily. I honestly feel that overall you get much more out of training in KM with self-defence.ie than paying through the nose at your nearest gym.
